The purpose of this study was to identify the gap of degree of perception and degree of performance for the medical information protection in the medical workers and it was intended to provide basic data needed for developing education and programs to enhance medical information protection. For this purpose, the subjects were 167 medical workers who understood the purpose of this study and agreed to participate in the study. The data was collected from the survey on December 1 to 31, 2016. The collected data were analyzed by a statistical package SPSS Ver 21.0. The result of the study showed that the average age was 33.5(±6.83) years old, and the ratio of male to female was 4:6. The degree of perception was statistically significant in career and occupational group. The degree of performance was statistically significant in age and academic background. The difference between perception and performance was statistically significant according to the occupational group. Perception and performance showed the highest relevance in information management task. Therefore, education should be conducted for protect the medical care information differentiated by occupational group.
