The purpose of this study is to explore and describe the influence of Korean internet primary banks(K-Bank and Kakao Bank) on financial consumers, based on a survey of the literatures, the cases of major advanced countries, and in-depth interview with internet primary bank experts. This exploratory study was conducted with awareness of the following problem: “What are the utilizing behavior factors of the internet primary bank services and what are the legal, institutional, and technical requirements for the activation of this services?” As a result of in-depth interview with internet primary bank experts, they suggested four legal, institutional, and technical factors required to activate the internet primary bank industry including: (1) deregulation of regarding separation of banking and commerce and the need to legislate internet primary bank industry promotion act, (2) securing the fiscal(financial) soundness of internet primary bank and construction of risk management system and risk management committee, (3) developing differential profit structure and business models of internet primary bank, and (4) the need for investment for the construction and operation of artificial intelligence based credit scoring system using financial bigdata.
