골격성Ⅲ급 부정교합으로 진단된 자매들로서 이상적인 치료계획은 둘 다 악교정 수술을 동반한 교정 치료였으나 언니의 경우만 술전 교정 후 양측성 하악지 시상 분할 골절단술로 치료하고 동생의 경우는 상악 제 2소구치와 하악 제 1소구치 발치를 통한 절충 치료를 시행 하였다. 이에 본 증례보고 에서는 악교정 수술을 한 경우와 절충 치료를 한 경우를 비교하 여 고찰해 보았다.
Patients with skeletal classⅢ can be successfully treated by either orthognathic surgery or orthodontic treatment owing to unavoidable circumstances. Sisters were treated, elder sister by orthognathic surgery and younger one by compromised treatment. For the ideal treatment goal, orthognathic surgery will be inevitable in skeletal problem case, but by the patient`s private situations orthodontist cannot help doing compromised treatment. It could be another option if correct biomechanical approach is used.
