This paper is a study to establish the academic discipline of Buddhist counseling. I write about the process of establishing Buddhist counseling. It focuses on describing the various discipline necessary for academization of Buddhist counseling. First, the definition of Buddhist counseling is divided into Buddhism based counseling and counseling with Buddhism, while Buddhism based counseling is defined as Buddhist counseling. The academic system of Buddhist counseling can be seen based on Buddhist psychology. It defines the mind, which is the subject of Buddhist psychology, and presents law of dependent origination as a kinetic mechanism of the mind, and distinguishes humans who are bearers of mind, as functional beings and possible beings. In addition, Buddhist psychology can be divided into Buddhist mindology, Buddhist cetasikology, and Buddhist psychotherapy. It discusses the language used in Buddhist counseling and discusses the mechanisms and techniques of Buddhist counseling. It also discusses the attitude that Buddhist counselors should have and the space where Buddhist counseling takes place. It also discusses Buddhist counseling theory, the characteristics of Buddhist counseling, and the paradigm of Buddhist counseling and the motto of Buddhist counseling. In this way, this study aims to establish the academic discipline of Buddhist counseling through discussions on topics throughout Buddhist counseling.
