This study is on the effects of mathematical activities with a concrete math materials on mathematical concepts and problem behaviors of children with multiple disabilities(visual impairment-mental retardation). For this purpose, the following research question was formulated : What effects do mathematical activities with concrete math materials on children with multiple disabilities(visual impairment-mental retardation) in achievement of mathematical concepts and problem behaviors? For this study, Multiple baseline across subjects design was used. The subjects of this study were 3 children who were 9 years old attended C clinic in J city. This subjects have multiple disabilities(visual impairment-mental retardation).
The major findings of this study were as follows: First, mathematical activities with a concrete math material was improved the ability of the mathematical concepts. Second, mathematical activities with a concrete math material was decreased of problem behaviors.
As a result, the mathematical activities with a concrete math materials had the positive influences on the general improvement of the math concepts and problem behaviors of children with multiple disabilities(visual impairment-mental retardation)
