이 연구는 구체물을 활용한 수학활동이 시각-정신지체 중복장애학생의 수학 개념 및 문제행동에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 연구에 참가한 학생들은 시각장애학교에 재학 중인 초등학교 3학년 학생들로서 시각장애와 정신지체를 동시에 가지고 있어서 일반적인 수학 수업에 의해 교육적 성취를 기대하기 어려운 상태였다. 연구는 학부모의 동의를 얻어 방학 중과 방과 후 시간에 사설 치료실에서 진행되었으며, 주 3회(1회기 당 40분)를 기준으로 약 3개월에 걸쳐 수행되었다. 이 연구를 통하여 얻은 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 구체물을 활용한 수학활동은 시각-정신지체 중복장애학생의 수학 개념을 전반적으로 향상시켰다. 둘째, 구체물을 활용한 수학활동은 시각-정신지체 중복장애학생의 문제행동을 감소시켰다.
This study is on the effects of mathematical activities with a concrete math materials on mathematical concepts and problem behaviors of children with multiple disabilities(visual impairment-mental retardation). For this purpose, the following research question was formulated : What effects do mathematical activities with concrete math materials on children with multiple disabilities(visual impairment-mental retardation) in achievement of mathematical concepts and problem behaviors? For this study, Multiple baseline across subjects design was used. The subjects of this study were 3 children who were 9 years old attended C clinic in J city. This subjects have multiple disabilities(visual impairment-mental retardation). The major findings of this study were as follows: First, mathematical activities with a concrete math material was improved the ability of the mathematical concepts. Second, mathematical activities with a concrete math material was decreased of problem behaviors. As a result, the mathematical activities with a concrete math materials had the positive influences on the general improvement of the math concepts and problem behaviors of children with multiple disabilities(visual impairment-mental retardation) Key words : concrete material, mathematical concepts, problem behaviors
