최근 우리나라에 빈발하는 ‘묻지마 범죄’는 특정한 이유 없이 불특정 다수를 대상으로 발생되는 범죄이다. 피해 대상은 사회적 약자로 분류되는, 어린이, 여성, 노인, 장애인과 같이 저항이 어렵거나, 범죄자보다 힘이 약해보는 사람들에게 집중된다. 이 묻지마 범죄는 중 살인범죄는 최근 다소 줄어드는 경향이 있지만, 전체 묻지마 범죄는 그 수가 꾸준히 증가학고 있으며, 때와 장소를 가리지 않고 발생되어 사회적 불안 요소가 되고 있다. 특히 묻지마 범죄 발생장소는 총 163건중 ‘길거리’가 89건(54%), 지하철역•공원•초등학교 등 공공장소가 21건(13%)로 발생 예측이 어렵고 누구나 피해자가 될 수 있는 것이 문제점이다. 이러한 묻지마 범죄를 예방하기 위해 다양한 조치가 시행중인데, 거리를 CCTV로 녹화하고 방범 및 순찰을 강화하며, 어두운 곳에는 조명을 설치하는 등의 사회가 조치를 하는 경우가 있다. 그리고, 개인에 의해 예방 조치에는 특히 강력 범죄에 대한 차단을 위해 스마트폰을 이용한 호출을 하거나, 개인용 호신 경보기도 사용되고 있다. 스마트 폰을 이용하는 방법은 응급상황에서 유연하게 대처할 수 있는 장점이 있지만, 휴대용 경보기에 비해 복잡한 조작방법이 단점이 될 수 있다. 휴대용 경보기나 호루라기와 같은 경보 시스템은 범죄자 심리를 위축시키고, 지근거리의 다른 사람에게 도움을 받을 수 있는 장점이 있다. 이 휴대용 호신 경보기는 작고 휴대가 간편하지만, 소리공학적 측면에서 가해자로부터 피해자를 보호하기에 충분하지 않다. 본 연구에서는 이 휴대용 경보기의 음향특성을 분석하여 단점을 보완하고자 한다.

Using smart phones has the advantage of being able to cope with emergency situations, but it can be a disadvantage compared to portable alarms. Alarm systems, such as personal emergency alarms and whistles, there is an advantage of the alarm system shrinks the criminal mind, and to being able to get help from other people near victim. This portable security alarm is small and portable, but it is not enough to protect the victim from the assailant in terms of sound engineering. In this study, we analyze the acoustic characteristics of this portable alarm to compensate for its drawbacks.
