This study was conducted to provide basic data to construct a comprehensive strategy for efficient management and operation of a nursing organization by verifying the effect of team work on job satisfaction, communication competence and social problem solving ability, and developing a nursing practice improvement educational program which is effective in improving nursing competence. For this study, 385 nurses in 4 general hospitals located in M City were randomly sampled and a survey with them was conducted using structured questionnaires. The study findings are average score of team work was 95.52 points, job satisfaction 40.41 points, communication competence 50.99 points and social problem solving ability 133.60 points.job satisfaction(β=.29, p<.001) was the most primary predictor of team work and it was followed by communication competence(β=.19, p<.001), and social problem solving ability(β=.15, p<.001). Team work of nurses provides an opportunity for them to display their capabilities to achieve a goal of nursing organization by improving their job satisfaction, communication capabilities and social problem solving skills. Also, it is thought that the improvement in team work will help nurses harmonized with nursing organizations, positively and develop their skills to solve various problems in the nursing field by enhancing mutual cooperation.
