본 연구의 목적은, 백암 박은식의 『왕양명선생실기』를 중심으로 그의 사상에서 엿볼 수 있는 양명학적 특징들을 제시하고, 이로부터 도덕교육적 함의를 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 먼저 박은식의 사상 변전(變轉) 과정에서 양명학이 어느 시기에 등장하였으며 그 위상은 어떠하였는지 살펴보았다. 이어서 그의 사상에서 나타나는 양명학적 특징들을 추출한 뒤, 여기에서 이끌어낼 수 있는 도덕교육적 함의를 고찰하였다. 논의의 결론은 다음과 같다. ① 먼저 박은식의 사상에서 나타나는 양명학적 특징들은 개략적으로 세 가지로 구분되는 바, 첫째, 양명학을 비판적이며 외연이 확대된 민족주의 관점에서 바라보았고, 둘째, 공부를 중시한 양명우파적 학풍으로 이해하였으며, 셋째, 기독교의 성령과 양지의 유사점을 논의하는 것과 같이 종교적 측면에서 풀이하였다. ② 이러한 박은식의 양명학적 특징들이 집약된 양지 개념의 도덕교육적 함의도 세 가지로 도출되는 바, 첫째, 바로 나 자신이 도덕적 주체라는 사실에 대한 신념을 제공하고, 둘째, 도덕적 주체가 실천하는 일상적 마음 공부의 중요성을 일깨워주며, 셋째, 주체와 타자가 관계 맺는 데 있어 근간과 지향점을 제시한다.
This study aimed at investigating the characteristics of Wang Yangming study of Baekam Pak Eun-Sik’s thoughts based on 『Life and Thoughts of Wang Yangming』, and derive the implications of moral education from them. For this purpose, this study first looked at when the characteristics of Wang Yangming study appeared in the process of changing Park Eun-Sik’s thoughts, and looked at the status of Wang Yangming study in his thoughts. Then this study extracted the characteristics of Wang Yangming study of his thoughts and examined the moral educational implications that could be derived from them. The conclusion of the discussion is as follows. ① First of all, the characteristics of Wang Yangming study of Park Eun-sik’s thoughts are roughly divided into three categories. First, he looked at Wang Yangming study from a critical and externally-extended nationalist viewpoint. Second, he understood Wang Yangming study as a tendency to value studying. Third, he put Wang Yangming study on the religious side in a way that discusses the similarities between the Holy Spirit and the Yangji. ② There are three moral educational implications of the Yangji concept, which focuses on the characteristics of Wang Yangming study of Park Eun-Sik’s thoughts. First, it provides a belief in the fact that I am a moral subject. Second, it reminds us of the importance of the everyday mind training that a moral subject practices. Third, it presents the foundation and the objective of the relationship between the subject and the other beings
