The purpose of this study war to investigate the subjective oral health status, dependence of eating behavior, and nutritional status of the elderly with dysphagia in nursing facilities. The data was collected from 102 elderly of one nursing facility in B metropolitan city from September 27th t0 October 7th, 2017. Dysphagia was measured by a tool which was developed by Kim(2003), oral health was measured by a tool which was modified and supplemented by Park et al(2016), eating behavior was measured by Tully et al(1997) and nutrition status was measured by Nestle Nutrition Institute(1994) and adapted by Baek(2013). The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, t-test, and ANOVA. The dependence of eating behavior with dysphagia was statistically significantly higher score than that of without dysphagia(t=9.78, p<.001). Based on the result of this study, it would be necessary to regularly evaluate the status of dysphagia and to perform swallowing rehabilitation training to lower the dependence of eating behavior of elderly in nursing facilities.
