BIM(Building Information Modeling) is a media that is quite different from the digital media used in existing architecture, and it is important to understand not only functions of BIM tools but also the overall concept of the building industry based on BIM. It is aimed at a new idea of industry standard, and it is not easy for students who are familiar with traditional digital media and traditional design methodology to understand and acquire BIM. In addition, since BIM education guidelines have not yet been drawn up in consideration of the students situation, BIM education is being developed as a way of teaching other existing digital media (such as basic tool usage training based on functions). This study has begun to establish the proper BIM education in this viewpoint. In other words, I would like to contribute to the effective BIM education in the future by investigating and analyzing the ways in which new students who are new to BIM are experiencing difficulties and effective education. According to the results of the study, the difficulty of using the project according to the scale, scope, and detail of the project can be increased. Therefore, BIM education based project is more suitable than the one-time education based on the functions of the existing digital modeling tools.
