This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between adult attachment and marital satisfaction in middle - aged women. Middle age is very important in personal and societal life in the whole life cycle, and it is an important time to prepare for the growth of children and their aging life because it means entering into the latter half of life. The measurement tools used in this study are adult attachment measurement tool and marital satisfaction measurement tool. Adult attachment measurement tools used by Kim Eun Jung and Kwon Jung Hye (1998) were used, and marital satisfaction measure tool was developed by Song Hye - hee (1986) and modified by Jung Jin - Kwan (2004). This study was conducted from October 2, 2017 to October 22, 2017 for a total of 20 days. The study was conducted on 204 middle - aged women (40 to 60 years old) living in G area. The data of this study were analyzed using SPSS 21.0, and statistical analysis and correlation were conducted for adult attachment and marital satisfaction. The results of this study are as follows: First, the anxiety attachment showed the highest negative correlation in adult attachment, followed by dependent attachment and intimate attachment. In marital satisfaction, spousal satisfaction was the highest, followed by marital satisfaction. In other words, in the case of middle-aged attachment, the desire to be independent from the parent is very strong, unlike the attachment formation in the childhood and the childhood in the past, This study suggests that the study of attachment should be proceeded.
