Electric Power Steering(EPS) in cars usually are divided into column type, pinion type and rack type. The column type and pinion type are equipped with small and medium size cars. Due to the motor quantity size large size cars have been preferred and developed to be equipped with rack type EPS Rack type EPS are used in many cars in the States and Germany. The use of rack type EPS(EPS) increases the responsiveness and efficiency of power transmission as it is installed on the rack to provide the motor power to the vehicle directly. This research introduces REPS steering model and control logic and verifies the validation for model and logic. In this paper, the program was made using Matlab Simulink to analyze the REPS system model and control algorithm. In addition this paper defined the control specific function module. The simulation results through computer simulation were compared with vehicle experimental results from field test. Finally, the validations of control algorithm were successfully completed through comparisons. At conclusion it is clear that the model and control logic would be applied to real cars.
