This study attempted to explore research trend regarding students with low vision among those with visual impairments. For the purpose of this study, I reviewed the articles using students with low vision as an article title. The review result on the articles regarding students with low vision in domestic and foreign articles. First, as thematic characteristics, studies regarding students with low vision could be classified by seven themes, and many articles were related to the theme of education. There were not many differences between domestic and foreign articles in terms of the varieties of themes. Second, characteristics of variable could be classified according to journals, years, and subjects. Regarding the characteristics according to journals, domestic articles were often published in a journal, ‘The Korean Journal of Visual Impairment,’ and foreign articles were often published in a journal, ‘Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness.’ Regarding the characteristics according to published years, the articles including ‘student with low vision’ as a title were published in domestic articles almost every year, but did not so in foreign articles. Regarding the characteristics according to research subjects, whereas domestic articles tended to divide students with low vision from those with blindness, foreign articles tended not to divide so. Based on the result of this study, the researcher emphasizes that the studies regarding students with low vision need to be more explored, and that the classification between blindness and low vision or between blindness and visual impairments seems to be necessary.
