The purpose of this study is to analyze the current state of KCI journals about humanistic imagination and to examine the flow of the humanistic imaginative research, the fields of interest, and the application of human imagination. In this regard, I tried to draw some implications in the field of early childhood education. To accomplish the research purpose, 44 papers related to Humanities and Imagination published from 2000 to 2017 were selected. Analysis data were collected by accessing Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), an academic research information service site operated by the Korea Educational and Scientific Information Service.\nAs a result, many researches started to be done abruptly in 2007 regarding the humanities imagination , but it gradually decreased, and research on humanistic imagination has been increasing recently. Also, it was found that the institutes that issued 44 papers related to humanities and imagination were studied in 35 different institutes rather than in one institute. As a result of analyzing the contents of the research, it was found that about 75% of the papers intended to apply the humanistic imagination to the major field of study and the concept of what the humanistic imagination is. Based on the results of this analysis, implications for applicability of humanistic imagination in early childhood education are suggested. Therefore, it is meaningful that this study sought from the viewpoint of the humanistic imagination in the direction of the character education of young children.
