본 연구는 정신장애인의 자아존중감, 사회적지지, 자가간호역량과의 관계를 파악하여 자가간호역량에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 시도되었다. G시와 J도에 거주하는 정신장애인 231명을 대상으로 2017년 9월 26일부터 10월 6일까지 자가 보고식 설문조사로 시행되었다. 수집된 자료는 평균, 표준편차, Pearson corrleation coefficient, stepwise multiple regression를 SPSS 19.0프로그램을 이용하여분석하였다. 연구결과 정신장애인의 자아존중감, 사회적지지, 자가간호역량의 평균점수는 2.81, 3.95, 3.32점으로 나타났다. 자아존중감과 사회적 지지가 높을수록 자가간호역량이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 자아존중감과 가족지지는 정신장애인의 자가간호역량에 영향을 미치는 변수로, 모형의 설명력은 약 54%로 나타났다. 그러므로 정신장애인들이 자신을 돌보고 관리하며 만족스러운 삶을 살아 갈수 있도록 자아존중감을 증진하는 프로그램 및 이들의 가족지지를 강화시키는 간호수행과 간호상담프로그램이 필요하겠다.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the influence of self-esteem and social support on self-care agency among people with mental disabilities. Methods: Data was collected from 231 people with mental disabilities by self-reported questionnaires consisted of self-esteem, social support, and self-care agency from September 26 to October 6, 2017. The SPSS 19.0 Window program was used for descriptive statistics, Pearson s corrleational coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The average score of self-esteem, social support, and self-care agency was 2.81, 3.95, and 3.32 respectively. There were positive correlations among self-esteem, social support, and self-care agency. These variables together explained 54% of the self-care agency in people with mental disabilities. Therefore, a program to promote self-esteem is needed to enhance the self-care agency of the people with mental disabilities and various approaches are needed to enhance their family support
