The purpose of this study was to analyze the first and second grade students’ textbooks
and teachers’ opinions as the basis of revising curriculum in order to enhance students’
creativity. Specifically, the three kinds of textbooks such as language arts, mathematics,
intelligent life and 150 teachers’ open-question was analyzed.
The results were as follows;
First, Every textbook was included fluency which is component of the creative thinking
skills, but the other components of creative thinking skills like originality, flexibility, and
elaboration was seldom found. In addition to, sensitivity, imagination, and openness which
are the components of the creative thinking personality were found in the learning objects in
the textbooks.
Second, most teacher taught the textbooks by the national curriculum, but some of them
preferred integrating between subjects and changing learning objects. Also, they
reconstructed the contents according to students’ interests and feasibilities.
Third, most teacher tested their students’ academic achievements with the questions
asking simple facts.
