An appearance of early modern education allowed the authority of teacher in the name of socialization of a child. Teacher used to picture book in order to socialize a child.
The purpose of this study was to examine Foucault\'s power concept based on a literature that appeared in the picture book John Patrick Norman McHennessy : The boy who was always late illustrated by John Burningham, and the teacher character was analysis into Foucault\'s power concept.
As the result of analysis, the teacher character shows that \"monitoring and restrictive teacher\", \"critical teacher\" and \"restrict to imagination and playing\".
This research suggests that teacher who teaches children in post-modernism should understand the way of their thinking, lend an ear that children needs, not only have permissive attitude in children spending time, but also stop the thinking that teacher can be a man of power to children.
