The purpose of this study was to make a comparative analysis on the perception and attitude change of elementary school general teachers on inclusive education between 1993 and 2008. The study which was selected by the criteria for this study was performed in 1993. The subjects in this study were 202 elementary school general teachers(1/2 from general classes and 1/2 from inclusive classes) from Gyeong-In Districts from November 1 to December 5, 2008.
The findings of this study were as follows:
Fist, elementary school teachers on the perception and attitude of inclusive education for students with disabilities in 2008 have been more positive than those in 1993 over all. Second, the results of elementary school teachers' views on improving inclusive education for students with disabilities that were make comparison between 1993 and 2008 showed significant differences in variables of marriage, experiences of school field and others, and didn't show significant differences in variables among religion, experiences of special education, in-services training of special education, level of interesting in special education and so forth. Third, the receptive attitudes of many general teachers' groups among variables toward including students with disabilities showed more positive than that of 1993. Finally, some of general teachers' performance of role taking measures on activating inclusive education were suggested.
