Microtia was common in male for children with the frequency of one out of 10,000 to 20,000. This had potential complication to progress in conductive and sensorineural hearing loss. Hearing aid intervention showed various problematic issues just from the start of hearing aid application such as limited physical size, unusual acoustic feedback, and pains in the ear canal. In this case review, authors reported a clinical experience of hearing aid fitting with a customer with microtia to effectively manage individualized cases.
Thus, related audiologists should be able to provide the concerned customers with better quality aural rehabilitation services from this individualized fitting example.
