본 연구는 결핵전문병원에 입원한 결핵 환자 186명을 대상으로 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 살펴보는 것이다. 삶의 질은 여러 가지 요인에 의해 영향을 받을 수 있으나 본 연구에서는 사회인구학적 변인으로 학력, 배우자 유무, 동반질환 여부, 입원 횟수를 선정하였으며 그 외 증상 경험, 우울, 가족지지, 의료인지지 요인들을 중심으로 결핵환자의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 우울이 삶의 질에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났으며 가족지지, 배우자 유무 및 의료인 지지가 그 뒤를 이었다. 우울, 가족지지, 배우자 및 의료인 지지는 결핵환자의 삶의 질과 밀접한 영향이 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 결핵환자가 가능한 한 만족스러운 삶을 영위할 수 있도록 사회복지실천 방안을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate and identify the factors influencing the quality of life among hospital patients with tuberculosis. A questionnaire survey was administered to research subjects at a hospital in the Kyungnam province area. The correlation between patients\' quality of life and such factors as socio-demographic, symptom experience, depression, family support, and medical expert support factors were analyzed. The preceding factor of QOL among TB patients were depression, the presence of a medical health carer, the presence of a living spouse (wife or husband), and family support in a descending order of significance. Based on the results of this research, we are able to make a number of practical recommendations for social work intervention to help TB patients live more satisfactory lives.
