This study has shown overall contents on the development process of the Korean alphabet braille, by age, divided into the device of 평양 braille, the invention of 3․2 braille, the creation of 훈맹정음, the unified draft on the braille of Korean alphabet, the revised unified draft on the braille of Korean alphabet, the legislation of rules for Korean alphabet braille and the revised regulation for Korean alphabet braille. Based on present problems in the development of Korean alphabet braille, it also suggests tasks for future advance ; developing various braille text materials, fostering related experts, reorganizing systems, enacting regulations on the publishment of braille text books, designing and complementing programs, ensuring proper training courses for teachers and their weekly teaching hours, educating braille for students with low vision, modifying related act like copyright law, designing information oriented contents, modifying the revised regulation of Korean alphabet braille(in the information-oriented view) and fostering and supporting institutions for braille research.
