The goal of this study is to explore possibilities for implementing pursuit of happiness education
in early childhood educational settings. From philosophical, psychological and educational perspectives,
it was found that implementing pursuit of happiness education is not only possible but also necessary
for improving children's lives.
Details can be summarized as follows; First, from a philosophical point of view happiness is the ultimate
goal of humankind and is normally achieved by having such wisdom and/or courage as are commonly
valued by society. Because it also leads to the possibility of expanding the curriculum to include children's
social life it is logical to regard pursuit of happiness education as the ultimate goal of education itself.
Secondly, the psychological point of view gives us some insights into the required conditions for
successfully implementing pursuit of happiness education; it helps us sort out the essential aspects of lives
necessary for happiness. Extraneous factors such as gender, age, state of health, socioeconomic status,
education level, as well a more personal factors, such as talents and interests, are all to be considered
when implementing pursuit of happiness education. Thirdly, from the educational point of view the ability
to successfully pursue happiness is an essential skill in life that can only be learned and developed by
experience and practice, just like any other skill that children learn and hone. From this we gather that
pursuit of happiness education should be linked to, and taught alongside with, various other various aspects
of life education that focuses on the healthy development of ego and sociability.
In conclusion, pursuit of happiness education in early childhood education settings may prove to be
the ultimate goal of education itself; it well may turn out to be the most desirable education goal for
all walks of life
