본 연구는 대부분의 장애아동들이 공통적으로 가지고 있는 주의집중력 문제를 다루고 있으며, 특히 미술치료가 정신지체아의 주의집중력 향상에 미치는 영향을 검정하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 대상자는 연구자가 근무하고 있는 D 지역에 위치해 있는 사회복지관 내 미술치료 프로그램에 참여하고 있는 정신지체 아동을 대상으로 3명을 선정하였다. 연구기간은 2005년 5월부터 주 2회로 총19회기 실시되었으며 회기 소요시간은 약 35정도였다. 본 연구의 프로그램 효과를 증명하는 측정 도구로는 Yale 아동행동평가척도, 인물화에 의한 지능검사, 주의집중도 검사 등을 실시하였으며, 미술치료 프로그램이 주의집중에 미치는 효과를 살펴보기 위해 치료시간 중 지속시간 관찰법으로 주의집중 지속시간을 체크한 회기별 평균 시간을 산출하였다. 결과적으로 미술치료 프로그램 적용 후 주의집중 지속시간의 변화 그래프에서 각 아동별 평균곡선이 상승하는 것으로 나타났으며, 주의집중도 검사와 Yale 아동행동평가척도 검사에서 사전 사후 비교 결과 그 점수가 증가하였다. 이것으로 보아 미술치료가 정신지체 아동의 주의집중력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to improvement of Attention Concentration in mentally retarded child. Art therapy program to used to this study improvement of attention Concentration that have main target with making friendship, reducing strain, expression of self-esteem. Subjects were 3 victims of mentally retarded children who have similar character and age. The results are as follow: First, Art therapy makes to improvement of Attention Concentration Releasing Time in mentally retarded child. The time concentrating on the program was grew longer.
