Living through the negative environment in this world characterized as rapid change and severe
competition, people easily get frustrated and become bereft of their own value and worth. Therefore
researcher intended to investigate the effect of Group Consultation by application of TA to solve these
problems. In order to attain the object of this study the following propositions were set up.
Proposition (1): Points of OK-gram and Script Test between the Test Group and the Control Group
willnot be of any meaningful differences, when measured prior to TA Group Consultation Program
applied.
Proposition (2): After TA Group Consultation Program has been applied, points of OK-gram and
Script Test will show meaningful changes.
Based on the said propositions, to practically measure the effectiveness of Group Consultation Program
by TA Theory, researcher investigated 60 persons who attended at a “mental training program for
business and public organizations”, held from October to December, 2004. Study model was made in the
following manner. Firstly 60 persons were selected at random from group of people whose hierarchical
rank in the relevant organization was at the lower level, and then they were distinguished into 30
persons of Test Group and another 30 persons of Control Group. Test Group had got 5 times program
sessions for the duration of less than 6 hours per program of Group Consultation by TA Theory; while
Control Group did not get any type of programmed sessions. To measure the effect of the training
program, average points of OK-gram and Script Test of Test Group and Control Group between 'before'
and ‘after’ program were analyzed with t test.
Also epilogue writings were analyzed for the purpose of seeing if there were any changes which were perceived by the program-participants. SPSS(V11.0) were applied for analyzing and processing the data
obtained. Furthermore epilogue writings were written and collected at the last session and analyzed.
Analysis showed that the points of Test Group and Control Group ‘before’ the program came out as
meaningful level p<0.05, which proved that the two Groups were identical ones, which did not have any
meaningful differences. Furthermore the result viewed by comparison of points between ‘before’ and
‘after’ the program of Test Group showed such effectiveness that, in case of Script, ‘Loser’'s Script'
holders ‘before’ the program were changed into ‘Winner's Script’ ones ‘after’ the program. And the
differences proved even statistically meaningful.
Even OK-gram which indicated Life Position showed a significant increase of points of ‘I - OK’ and
'Others - OK' and also a significant decrease of points of ‘I-not-OK’ and ‘Others-not-OK’. The result
also indicated even statistically meaningful differences.
Analysis of epilogue writings indicated that the participants were fairly satisfied with the program and
attitudes towards their lives were also changed considerably in many senses.
These consequences could be interpreted as proof of effectiveness of Group Consultation by TA Theory,
which in many creative and effective ways could help people live in such manners that they could live
their lives together with others, while understanding, accepting, loving, respecting and cooperating with
them.
This study not only showed that TA Group Consultation Program was very effective tool to help
people adapt themselves to the organizational work environment as well as to change their life positions
into more affirmative ones, thus enabling them growth and healthy interactions, but also stressed once
again the importance and effectiveness of TA Group Consultation
