The purpose of this article is to compare Transaction Analysis with the ego structure of the Psychodynamics Theory. First, compared with Freud's structural model, Parent ego state of TA is similar to superego, Adult ego state of TA is similar to ego and Child ego state is similar to id. Second, the ego state model of TA is more like an implement than a theoretical composition. Third, Adult ego in the Child ego seems like an ego which is on the basis of the Phantasy concept of Melanie Klein. Fourth, Adult ego state is observable and conscious. Fifth, Natural child ego and Adapted child ego are theorized based on Donald Winnicott's theory of True Self and False Self. Sixth, the formation of Adult ego state is influenced by behaviors or attitudes of emotionally important persons while in the theory of Christopher Bollas, ego is a trace of relations.
