The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the Disability Understanding Education using
Video-materials of Disabilities Overcoming on Disability-acceptance Attitude of Young Children. Subjects in this
study was consisted of sixty young children placed in two classes, ages of six years of kindergarten located in
Suwon city, Gyeonggi-do. One class was experimental group and the other was control group. Experiment was all
made of twenty sessions. Acceptance Scale For Kindergartens(ASK) of Favazza & Odom(1995) and Primary Student
Survey of Handicapped Persons(PSSHP) of Esposito & Pesch(1983) were originally used and the researcher revised
them and then finally used for finding out attitudes of young children toward peers with disabilities. For data
analysis, t-test was carried out to compare on the difference the pre and post test scores. The results obtained from
this study were as follows: First, the Disability Understanding Education using Video-materials of Disabilities
Overcoming was effective and positive on Disability-acceptance Attitude of young children. Second, the Disability
Understanding Education using Video-materials of Disabilities Overcoming was effective on interaction to peers with
disabilities. Third, the Disability Understanding Education using Video-materials of Disabilities Overcoming brought
about the positive change on disabilities recognition. **The results of this study have importance not only to
increase young children's positive attitudes toward their peers with disabilities, but also to develop intervention and
strategies for positive attitude about individuals with disabilities in our society.
