본 연구는 집단미술치료가 정신분열증 입원환자들의 사회기술과 증상에 효과가 있는지 알아보고, 집단미술치료 진행과정에 따라 정신분열증 환자의 그림에서 나타나는 특징의 변화에대해 알아보고자 하는 두 가지 목적을 가지고 행해졌다. 32명의 정신분열증 입원환자들을 피험자로 선정하여 각각 16명의 치료집단과 통제집단으로 구성하였다. 치료집단에 집단미술치료 프로그램을 매 회기 70분씩 총 22회기로 주 2회 실시하였다. 효과 검증을 위해 치료집단과 통제집단에 사회생활기술 척도와 PANSS를 사용하여 사전검사와 사후검사를 하였다. 효과검증을 위한 통계적 방법으로는 t-검증을 행하였다. 집단미술치료 프로그램이 진행됨에 따라 정신분열증 환자의 그림에서 나타나는 특성의 변화를 알아보기 위해서는 프로그램의 3, 8, 13, 17, 21회기에 풍경구성법을 실시하였고, 풍경구성법에서 얻어진 그림들에 대한 질적 분석이 이루어졌다. 연구결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 집단미술치료가 사회생활기술향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 집단미술치료가 음성증상 및 일반정신병리증상의 완화에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 집단미술치료가 양성증상의 완화에는 유의미한 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 집단미술치료 프로그램이 진행됨에 따라 정신분열증 환자의 그림에 나타나는 양식적 요소의 특징적 경향성들이 전반적으로 감소되었다. 그림에서의 변화과정을 구체적으로 살펴보기 위해 3명의 피험자들을 선정하여 풍경구성법 결과에 대해 단계적으로 분석했다.
This study was performed for two purposes. One is to explain the effect of group art therapy with schizophrenic inpatients on social skills and symptoms. The other is to explore changes of the characteristic trends in drawings by the schizophrenic inpatients along the group art therapy program. The subjects for this study were 32 schizophrenic inpatients. 16 patients belonged to the experimental group, and the rest belonged to the controlled group. Experimental group members participated in the group art therapy twice a week for 22 sessions. Each session lasted 70 minutes. To confirm the effect of the group art therapy, the members of the experimental group and the controlled group had the Social Skills Scale test and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale test before and after the group art therapy program. The statistical method adopted for data analysis was the t-test. To explore changes of the characteristic trends in drawings by the schizophrenic inpatients along the group art therapy program, the LMT(Landscape Montage Technique) was employed during the 3rd, 8th, 13th, 17th and 21st session. The results of the LMT were qualitatively analyzed. The results were as follows: First, social skills were improved through group art therapy. Second, negative symptoms and general psychopathological symptoms decreased through group art therapy. Third, group art therapy had no effects on positive symptoms. Forth some characteristic trends of stylistic elements in drawings by the schizophrenic inpatients decreased along with the group art therapy program. To show the process of the changes in drawings, the results of the LMT in selected three subjects were analyzed. Key Words : Group art therapy, Schizophrenic inpatients, Social skills
