본 연구는 분리불안으로 인한 등교거부 아동인 9세 여아와 그 가족을 대상으로 가족미술치료를 실시하여, 가족미술치료가 대상아동의 가족관계 개선과 불안 감소, 등교거부행동 소거에 어떤 영향을 미치는가를 사례연구를 통해 규명해 보고자 하였다. 연구기간은 2004년 4월 26일부터 7월 12일까지 주 2회 50～60분씩 총 20회기를 실시하였으며, 장소는 D시 교육과학연구원 상담실에서 하였다. 연구도구로는 등교거부 아동에게는 투사검사인 학교생활화(KSD)와 동적가족화(KFD), Beck의 불안척도(Anxiety Inventory: BAI)를 사전과 사후에 실시하여 학교생활 및 가족에 대한 지각과 불안 수준의 변화된 상태를 분석하였으며, 부부 불화로 아동에게 불안 원인을 제공한 부모에게는 Roach의 결혼만족도(Marital Satisfaction Scale: MSS) 검사를 실시하여 부부관계의 변화를 알아보았다. 질적 분석으로는 각 회기별로 가족 구성원들의 그림과 태도변화 기록들을 활용하여 가족관계의 개선과 아동의 불안감소, 등교거부 행동 소거 과정을 알아보았다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족미술치료 가운데 부부상담이 아동의 분리불안의 원인이 된 부모의 부부관계에 대한 만족도와 이해도를 높인 것으로 나타났다. 결혼만족도를 5점 만점으로 했을 때 아빠는 2.73점에서 3.31점으로 높아졌고, 엄마는 2.23점에서 3.73점으로 높아졌다. 둘째, 가족미술치료가 등교거부 아동의 불안 수준 감소에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 가족 미술치료가 부부 및 가족의 정서를 안정시킴에 따라 대상아동의 정서도 안정되어, 불안지수가 사전검사에서 4점 만점에 3.71점이던 것이 사후검사에서 2.67점으로 낮아졌다. 셋째, 가족미술치료가 대상아동의 등교거부행동 소거에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대상 아동의 학교생활화(KSD)에서 사전에는 담임선생님의 무서운 얼굴, 매 맞는 손바닥 등이 나타났는데, 사후에는 친구들과 어울려 노는 모습이 그려져서 긍정적 변화를 보였다. 동적가족화 (KFD)에서도 사전에는 구획을 지었는데, 사후에는 가족들이 함께하는 모습을 그렸다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때, 등교거부 아동과 그 가족을 대상으로 한 가족미술치료가 부부 및 가족의 정서를 안정시키고, 등교거부 아동의 분리불안을 감소시켜 등교거부행동을 소거시키고 학교생활에 적응하도록 하는 데 효과가 있음을 알 수 있다.
This study is to investigate if and how family art therapy can help a truant child and the parents overcome separation anxiety, enhance family relations, and improve truant behavior. This girl had already been absent from school for the last four days, having said that she saw ghosts to show considerable anxiety and insist truancy. The causes of her truancy seems to arise from her fear for her teacher at school and from frequent fights of her parents, which in turn causes family discord to make her feel unstable attachment and separation anxiety on her mother. The therapy program lasted from April-26-2004 through July-12-2004, with total 20 sessions, twice a week. Research tools for the truant child are KSD(Kinetic School Drawing), KFD(Kinetic Family Drawing), and Beck's Anxiety Inventory; while research tools for the parents include Marital Satisfaction Scale(MSS); and sessional analysis of drawings by family and their behavior. The results obtained are as follows. First, it is shown that family art therapy is effective to promote satisfaction in marital life. In the MSS, father scored 3.31 in the post-test up-scaled from the score of 2.73 in the pre-test; while mother scored 3.73 in the post-test increased from 2.23 in the pre-test. Thus the family has become emotionally stable and the girl has improved her truancy. Second, family art therapy is shown to be effective to reduce the anxiety level of a truant child, whose truancy is caused by separation anxiety. The child's anxiety index in the pre-test is 3.71 out of total 4 points. Whereas the anxiety index in the post-test is 2.67. Third, the girl in the pre-test of KSD showed the teacher's angry face and her hands flogged, but she exhibited in the post-test of KSD that she played with friends showing some positive changes. Thus, family art therapy is proved to be effective to stabilize emotions of parents and the family, and reduce the truant girls' anxiety level so as to better adapt to school.
