The purpose of this study is to measure the effecti veness of group art Therapy program in improving adolescent’s emotional quotient The design of the study was one group pretest-posttest research design. The subjects were 6 males middle school students in Taegu city.
To perform this study, the group art therapy program was carried out 4 session a week. Each session being allocated 50 minutes.
Instruments of measurement in this study were used EQ-test, and qualitative analysis.
M(mean), SD(standard deviation) and T- test were employed to analyze data collected by EQ-test. AIso this study was performed qualitatiγe analysis to know adolescent's emotional changes. Sub-areas of each measurement are :5 areas, that is perception of emotion expression of emotion, regulation of emotion, utilization of emotion and empathy.
The consequences through this study's results and discussion are as foIlows.
Firstly. The results of qualtatiγe analysis were improved perception of emotion, expression of emotion, regulation of emotion and utilization of emotion.
Secondly. From result of T-test, the levels of expression of emotion, regulation of emotion and utilization of emotion were revealed statistically significant differences between pre-test and post-test.
The levels of perception of emotion and empathy was increased, but statistically insignificant.
From this results, it is suggested that Group Art Therapy is effective in improvement of adolescent's Emotional Intelligence.
