"Well-being which means seeking out of a better quality of life through physical, mental and emotional health, now occupies the central place of Korean popular culture, as the majority of people regard it as an ultimate goal of life. Truth is that, however, Korean well-being culture focuses upon only personal or individual health, putting emphasis on meditation training and health food.
This study is to evaluate about current 'well-being culture' and to seek a new direction of 'well-being culture' for consumer's welfare, based on awareness about the issue of currently 'well-being' culture in South Korea. We conducted and analyzed a delphi survey of the experts(the principal investigators) with expertise in these ""well-being"" culture research areas.
The delphi survey method is a structured communication technique, developed as a systematic, interactive forecasting method which relies on a panel of experts. Especially, to suitable for research purposes, policy delphi was selected among the delphi methods. The policy delphi have been designed for normative and explorative use, particularly in the area of social policy and public health.
This study can be summarized the opinions of more specific and various experts the present status of ""well-being"" culture in South Korea. And ultimately, This study is to suggest practical ways about the consumer's responsibility, the role of businesses, government policy, and so on.
The results of this study can be utilized for developing the government welfare policy. Furthermore, our analyses can provide a framework for further research about ""well-being"" culture.
