This study aimed to explore the characteristics of change of child\'s emotional expression change in play
therapy. The subject was a 7-year old girl with anxiety disorder. Play therapy had be taken 35 sessions by
therapist for 18 months.
It was found that the characteristics of change of child\'s emotional expression change in play therapy passed
through 3 stages. The initial stage\'s characteristic was expression of repressed emotions. The second stage was
characterized exercise that control emotions. The child expressed positive emotions such as hope, expectation at
final stage. According to changes in play therapy, she was bring some changes to her everyday life. In the
beginning, she was daunted in peer relationship, had some problems with friends. Also she extremely depended
on her mother. And then she felt the need relationship with peer, but she still was daunted for inappropriate
expression of emotions. In the middle stage she challenged to new role. The anxious behavior disappeared such
as physical tension, thumb sucking. Finally she expected the future, was able to enjoy school.
