The purpose of this study was to compare Demand for Parent Education Programs for Enhancing
Young Children’s Personality. This study surveyed and compared the need of parent education
programs for enhancing young children’s Personality among 210 teachers and 178 parents sampled
from childcare centers and kindergartens in Gwangju, Jollanam‐do, and Jollabuk‐do. From data
collected using a questionnaire were calculated means, standard deviations and frequencies, and
differences between the two groups were tested through χ2‐test and t‐est. The results are as
follows, First, the surveying the participants’ demand for the contents of education in parent
education programs for enhancing young children’s Personality statistically significant difference early
childhood teachers and parents. Second, with regard to teachers’ and parents’ demand for how to
execute parent education programs for enhancing young children’s character, significant difference was
observed in the period of program, teaching method, autonomous choice of training, etc. The
implications of the results of this study were discussed for the development and execution of parent
education programs for enhancing young children’s Personality.
