본 연구는 저소득가정 아동의 개인내적 변인, 즉 외모만족도, 낙관주의, 성격, 자기효능감 등이 행복감에 미치는 각각의 영향력에 대해 살펴보고, 단계적 회귀분석을 통한 변인들의 순차적 영향력을 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 위해 서울․경기지역의 지역아동센터 를 이용하는 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 아동을 임의표집하였고 3주간에 걸쳐 설문조사를 실시하 였다. 총 202명의 아동이 설문조사에 참여하였고 본 연구목적에 적절하지 않다고 판단된 2 명을 제외한 총 200부의 자료만 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SAS 통계프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였으며, 빈도분석, 단순회귀분석, 단계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 자료분석 결과, 우선 행복감은 외모만족도, 낙관주의, 자기효능감과 유의한 정적 상관을 보인 반면, 성격과는 유 의한 부적 상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 외모만족도, 낙관주의, 성격, 자기효능감 변인 중 자기효능감이 행복감에 가장 우선적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 행복감 의 전체 설명력은 57%인 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of individual variables, self-satisfaction regarding appearance, optimism, personality and self-efficacy on the levels of child happiness in low income families. For the purpose of this study, 202 school-age children from the 4th to 6th grades were randomly selected from local childcare centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The researcher collected questionnaires for three weeks in June 2010. The data gathered from 200 questionnaires were analyzed by simple regression and stepwise regression analysis. The main results were as follows: First, this study indicated that levels of happiness were positively correlated with self-satisfaction regarding appearance, optimism and self-efficacy and was negatively correlated with personality. Secondly, as a result of simple regression analysis, individual variables, self-satisfaction regarding appearance, optimism, personality and self-efficacy was observed to impact upon the happiness levels of children from low income families. The study also confirmed that the variable of self-efficacy had the greatest impact upon the happiness levels of children from low income families.
