반야심경의 觀명상(통찰명상)은 반야심경의 핵심사상인 空性을 관하는 것이다. 공성을 관하는 데 있어서 오온, 18계, 사성제라는 항목을 정한 것은 두 권의 일본책인 奧野誠也의『1日10分 般若心經冥想法』과 棟山靖雄의『般若心經冥想法』3)를 참고하였다. 한편 空性에 관한 내용은 본인이 불교명상프로그램4)에 참여해서 명상 한 결과를 엮은 것이다. 부처님의 가르침이 녹아있 는 명상을 통해 마음의 변화를 경험하면서, 또 존재와 관계와 세상에 대해 바라보는 견해의 변 화를 지켜보면서, 불교가 심리치료적인 요소를 충분히 가지고 있다는 나름대로의 결론을 가지게 되었다. 결국 반야심경 止명상과 觀명상은 정혜쌍수(定慧雙修)의 효과를 거둘 수 있는 기제가 될 수 있 으며, 심리치료적인 효과까지도 거둘 수 있다는 점에서 작성된 것이다.
The following is the summary of communication of śamatha vipaśyanā of The sūtra of the heart of prajn and psychotherapy factor of meditation. First, śamatha using The sūtra of the heart of prajn does concentration mediation through mantra mediation and sūtra chanting. Through concentration mediation, one can gain samdhi or settle, and prajn that knows as it is emerges. In the mind of being immersed in the object, one can have the effect of anguish like The three poisons mind falling away. Second, vipaśyanā of The sūtra of the heart of prajn is regarding śūnya, the core idea of The sūtra of the heart of prajn. It regards The five skandhas, The eighteen dhtu(including Dvdaśayatanni), catur-rya-satya(including The eight right ways) and śūnyata thereof, and learning śūnyata appears in ṣaṭ-pramit. Psychotherapy factor of Śūnya discernment meditation is that it can first increase self-awareness of now-here through sati meditation. Being awake clarifies and awakens one's own emotions, feelings and thoughts, thus deepening self-understanding and self-acceptance. Śūnya discernment meditation does not interfere with one's emotions, thoughts and desires but simply looks at them, through which one can learn that all phenomena are empty (Śūnya), and by learning one can get away from self-identification with the object and be free from obsession. Finally the psychotherapy factor is the power to see everything that happens in body and mind with evamjn na through meditation. Through śamatha meditation using The sūtra of the heart of prajn, one can acquire k ruṇya with supernatural power of Avalokiteśvara; and through vipaśyanā one can adhigama prajn. But the final goal we pursue is to acquire bodhisattva idea of 'Above to seek bodhi, below to save all.' Bodhisattva has prṇaidhna of wanting all sattva who are suffering to be happy, with kruṇya after adhigama prajn. The incantation that holds bodhisattva's prṇaidhna, “a je a je bara a je bara sungaje mogi sabaha”, shows that enlightenment is being pariāmanā to sattva.
