본 연구는 아버지의 양육행동 및 참여도와 아동의 스트레스 대처행동과의 관계를 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 5-6학년 아동 405명을 대상으로 아버지의 양육행동과 참여도, 아동의 스트레스 대처행동을 측정하였는데, 사용된 측정도구는 최경순(1992)이 제작한 ‘아버지의 양육행동과 참여도 척도’와 민하영과 유안진(1998)이 제작한 ‘아동의 스트레스 대처행동 척도’였다. 수집된 자료는 일원변량분석, 적률상관분석, 중다회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다. 본 연구결과, 아버지의 양육행동 및 참여도와 아동의 스트레스 대처행동은 사회인구학적 변인에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 아버지의 양육행동 및 참여도와 아동의 스트레스 대처행동 간에는 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 그리고 아버지의 양육행동과 참여도의 제 하위요인은 아동의 스트레스 대처행동 전체에 대해 약 12.5%를 설명해 줄 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between fathers' child-rearing behaviors and involvements and children's stress coping behaviors. The subjects of this study were 405 children of fifth and sixth grade. Fathers’ child-rearing behaviors and involvements were assessed by the 'Fathers' Child-Rearing Behaviors Scale(Choi, 1992)' and the 'Fathers' Child-Rearing Involvements Scale(Choi, 1992)'. Children's stress coping behaviors were assessed by 'Children's Stress Coping Behaviors Scale(Min & Yoo, 1998)'. The results of this study were as follows: (1) The significant differences were found in fathers' child-rearing behaviors and involvements as a function of social demographic factors. (2) The significant differences were found in children's stress coping behaviors as a function of social demographic factors. (3) There were significant correlations between paternal child-rearing behaviors and involvements and children's stress coping behaviors. In particular, the relationship between fathers' child-rearing behaviors and involvements and children's stress coping behaviors showed high correlations in the categories of active and social support seeking coping behaviors. (4) The results of the regression analyses for children's stress coping behaviors showed that about 10% of the variance was explained by two variables of fathers' child-rearing behaviors; 'autonomy', 'achievement', and that about 9.4% of the variance was accounted for by two variables of paternal child-rearing involvements; 'day-to-day guidance', 'home education'.
