In the present year of 2010, the 60th year after the Korean War which broke out in the dawn of June 25, 1950 by the invasion of the North Korean Regime which then had been led by the late premier I1-seong Kim, various events and forums have been held to review the historical meaning of the war by important organizations concerning national security and academic institutes. It is considered very appropriate that we could have lauded the services of the martyred patriots who dedicated themselves to our country and at the same time elevated the sense of national security of the people as a whole through the series of such activities. It is, however, the fact that among the numerous presentations of reports and publications of researches on the activities of meritorious soldiers ' activities during the Korean War it is very hard to find them concerning the sacrificial activities of woman soldiers who must have made the real great contribution to the victory of our forces through their courageous participation in the war risking their lives with their fragile woman's bodies only to save our country put in the situation of a small light in a storm. Faced with this serious fact of the matter, I could not help presenting this report on the meritorious and sacrificial activities of the woman soldiers that have made great contributions to the security of our country during the Korean War, for the purpose of strengthening the patriotism of the young people and coming generation by illuminating the woman soldiers' unsparing sacrifices during the war. In the introduction, I have expressed my worry about the present status of the lack of the people's understanding of the polity of our country we are living in and the sense of national security by the people and have recalled to the mind of the people the sacrificial activities of the woman soldiers which made great contribution to the victory of our forces in the Korean War. Also I have briefly explained the background and the progress of the war. Especially, based on the balanced historical view point that treats not only the man soldiers who have long been dominating the highlight of the war hi s tory but also the woman soldiers who have also made great contributions in the winning wars fairly, I have introduced the splendid contributions of the woman soldiers during the Korean War, outlining those activities of the woman soldiers of America, England, Israel, North Korea, etc. At the same time, I have emphasized the fact that in the matter of national security there is no difference between sexes, ages, the rich and the poor, celebrities and the general public; and especially emphasized the importance of the right viewpoint on the polity of the people who have never experienced the war in reality because they were too young or not had been born yet at the time of the war. Also I have appealed to the competent authorities including the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs for their positive supports for the work of publication of written testimonies produced at the ongoing activities of education on the national security carried out for the young generation by the old woman soldiers who personally participated in the war 60 years ago, as their last patriotic services for their and our country the Republic of Korea. It being a belated regret, it is considered very appropriate for us to appreciate fully the distinguished services of the old woman soldiers for our country when they were very young and at the same time pay our full respect and treatment to them and realize the high standard of our country in which all the people are united in the same spirit.
