This study analyzed the effect attitudes towards music have on emotional intelligence of students with the visually impaired. 74 middle school students with visual impairment were surveyed, by grade, gender, degree of visual acuity and onset time of visual impairment, to find out attitudes towards music and emotional intelligence, and to analyze the effect on attitudes towards music have on emotional intelligence of students with the visually impaired. The results of the research are as follows. Firstly, female students showed higher attitude towards music than males did, but revealed no meaningful difference in other factors. Secondly, female students indicated higher emotional intelligence than males did, but had no meaningful difference in other factors. Thirdly, attitudes towards music of students with visual impairment had an influence on emotional intelligence. In conclusion, in the study, the significance of music education for the students with the visually impaired was emphasized and the role of music to improve emotional intelligence was presented, and limitations for this study was described.
