The purpose of this study is to find the condition of lifelong education for the deaf people in Korea. Two hundred questionnaires were returned by from workers in a deaf-related organizations. The present study assessed multiple response analysis and cross-tabulations through SPSS version 19.0. 64% of the deaf subjects knew about lifelong education, but they did not fully understand it until it was further explained to them in sign language. Firstly, they were not aware of other lifelong education assistance centers except for the Deaf Association program. They answered that they primarily got information about lifelong education from other participants and people around them, and to a lesser degree through posters in the deaf association centers and the internet. According to the survey on the Deaf community's preferences, they saw the necessity of lifelong education. They wanted to be offered education by the Deaf Association or the community welfare center for the deaf. They also prefer expert instructors who can communicate in sign language. The rates of Deaf participants in the education programs were low compared with the awareness of lifelong education. Institutions that offered lifelong education programs were the Deaf Association or the community welfare center for the deaf. They joined in diverse programs when given their choice of options. Participants are generally divided evenly into those who took part in one month, three months, or one year duration. The method of communication was mainly sign language or used a sign language interpreter. A program is needed to revitalize the deaf's lifelong learning educational options. Special services are needed to resolve the problems of communication. Current facilities should be improved for proper educational services. So research methods of lifelong education and institutes that support challenges of the deaf are needed. Communication services need to be offered to prevent future problems with communication. Legal help is needed for developing improved lifelong education.
