This is the case study of the application of cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT) to the male elementary student (of 5th grade) with Asperger’s disorder(AS), who shows a relational problem, anger issue, and having difficulty in following directions in groups. Total sessions for 22(once a week), CBT was the primary treatment. Applying the most recent trend in the CBT, we incorporated the previous theory of multiple theoretical approach together to approach considering both cognition and emotion, and we extensively used the methods of psycho education, exposure therapy, shaping, contingency management, cognitive reconstruction, and expression and control of emotional. To increase the treatment effect, we took the developmental stage and characteristics of the client into our model consideration and proceeded with the parent education for the generalization of our findings. As a result, the client could express and control his emotion and feeling, and reduced anger and learned the social skill to communicate with others. This result illustrates that CBT has a significant impact to reduce the problems of AS child by enhancing the client’s emotional adjustment, learning capability of social skills, and theory of mind ability, overall social and emotional development.
