The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship link between cyberbullying experiences and childhood depression with a close focus on the moderating effects of social support. A survey was conducted in Chonnam with 260 fifth and sixth graders. The survey attempted to hone in on experiences as a victim of cyberbullying, depression, and existing social support as the focus of measurement. The collected data was then analyzed by frequency analysis, reliability and correlation analysis, and hierarchical analysis using, the SPSS 21.0 program. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, in examining the relations among cyberbullying victim experiences, depression, and social support, there was a positive correlation between cyberbullying victim experiences and depression while there was a negative correlation between social support and depression. Second, after analyzing the moderating effects of the social support from peers, family, and teachers, peer social support was especially meaningful as a moderating effect in relation to cyberbullying victim experiences and childhood depression. This study, emphasizes the importance of peer support in overcoming the effects of cyberbullying and in protecting children from depression linked with cyberbullying.
