본 연구는 아동의 ADHD증상과 인터넷 과다사용 간 관계에서 사회기술과 우울증상이 매개하는지 살펴보았다. 본 연구를 위하여 A지역 4개 초등학교의 5, 6학년 11개 학급의 286명의 학생과 그 학생의 부모와 담임교사를 대상으로 ADHD증상에 관해 수집된 데이터가 분석에 사용되었다. 아동의 ADHD증상과 사회기술은 부모와 교사의 보고를 사용하였고, 인터넷 과다사용과 우울증상은 아동의 자기보고를 사용하였다. 아동의 ADHD증상과 인터넷 과다사용, 사회기술, 우울증상 간 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였고, 사회기술과 우울증상이 아동의 ADHD증상과 인터넷 과다사용과의 관계에서 매개하는지 알아보기 위해 구조방정식을 사용하여 매개모형 검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 부모와 교사가 보고한 ADHD증상 각각은 모두 사회기술과는 부적으로 유의한 상관이 있었고, 우울증상 및 인터넷 과다사용과는 정적으로 유의한 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 부모가 보고한 ADHD증상은 인터넷 과다사용을 부적으로 유의하게 예측하였고, 교사가 보고한 ADHD증상은 인터넷 과다사용을 정적으로 유의하게 예측하였다. 셋째, 교사가 보고한 사회기술은 교사보고 ADHD증상과 인터넷 과다사용의 관계를 직접적으로 매개하지는 않지만 우울증상을 거쳐서 간접적으로 매개하는 이중매개효과가 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구의 결과에 근거하여 의의와 시사점, 한계점에 대하여 논의하였다.
This study examined whether social skills and depressive symptoms mediate the relationship between ADHD symptoms and Internet overuse in children. For this study, 286 students in 5th and 6th grade 11 classes in 4 elementary schools in A region and their parents and homeroom teachers collected data on ADHD symptoms were used for analysis. Children s ADHD symptoms and social skills were reported by parents and teachers, and internet overuse and depressive symptoms were used by the children s self report. In order to investigate the relationship between ADHD symptoms and internet use, social skills and depressive symptoms of children, correlation analysis was carried out. a structural analysis was conducted to investigate whether social skills and depression mediate the relationship between ADHD symptoms of children and Internet overuse. The results were as follows. First, All of the symptoms of ADHD reported by parents and teachers were positively correlated with social skills and negatively correlated with depression and internet overuse. Second, Parent-reports ADHD symptoms negatively predicted overuse of the internet and teacher-reports ADHD symptoms positively predicted overuse of the internet. Third, teacher-reports social skills did not directly mediate the relationship between ADHD symptom and internet overuse, but showed double mediating effect indirectly through depression. Finally, implications and limitations were discussed based on the results of this study.
