This study aims to examine the effect of self-differentiation on empathy, and to test the moderating effect of MBTI preference tendency on the relationship between self-differentiation and empathy. The data collected from 250 people who are learning social welfare at colleges, universities, Longlife Education Centers in Gwangju and Naju was used for descriptive statistic analysis, correlation, regression and two-way ANOVA analysis. To test the moderating effect of MBTI preference tendency on the relationship between self-differentiation and empathy, two-way ANOVA analysis was adopted. As a result of analysis, the followings were found. First, self-differentiation and empathy were positively correlated. Second, Energy direction(E/I) and Decision Making(T/F) turned out to have moderating effect on the relationship between self-differentiation and empathy. Based on the findings, the Practical and educational efforts to enhance self-differentiation and empathy was suggested among the people who are learning social welfare at colleges, universities, Longlife Education Centers.
