본 연구는 청소년의 사회적 문제해결력 예측을 위한 변별도구로서 PPAT 검사의 타당화 연구이다. 연구대상은 경기도내 중·고등학교에 재학 중인 청소년 683명으로, PPAT 검사와 사회적 문제해결척도 검사를 통해 자료를 분석하여, PPAT 검사의 신뢰도와 공인타당도를 구하였다. 또한 PPAT 검사의 정확도 검증을 위해 판별분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, PPAT 검사는 평정자 간 일치도에서 비교적 높은 일치도를 보여 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 둘째, PPAT 검사의 타당도 검증 결과, 긍정적 문제 지향태도, 부정적 문제 지향태도, 충동/부주의 문제해결기술 점수에서 여학생이 남학생보다 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 합리적 문제해결기술점수는 남녀 모두 차이를 보여 PPAT 검사가 문제해결력을 어느 정도 예측할 수 있는 타당도를 확보하였다. 셋째, PPAT 검사의 정확도 검증 결과, PPAT 검사의 형식척도 변수에 의한 문제해결 총 점수에서 남학생 상집단과 여학생 하집단, 긍정적 문제 지향태도 남학생 중집단과 여학생 상집단, 부정적 문제 지향태도 남학생 중집단과 여학생 중집단에서 정확도를 보였다. 합리적 문제해결기술 남학생 하집단과 여학생 상집단, 충동/부주의 문제해결 남학생 하집단과 여학생 하집단, 회피형 문제해결기술 남학생 하집단과 여학생 중집단에서 정확도가 예측되었다.
This study investigated the validity of PPAT(Person Picking an Apple from a Tree) as a discrimination tool to predict adolescents social problem solving skill. The subjects were 683 adolescents aged 14 to 18years who attended middle and high schools in Gyeonggido. The result of this study is as follows. First, the three inter-rater consensus value of 14 elements of FEATS was reliable(.85 to .97) to verify the reliability of PPAT. Second, female adolescents showed a bigger difference than males regarding positive problem orientation attitude, negative problem orientation attitude, and impulsive/careless problem solving skill. For rational problem solving, both male and female adolescents showed difference and verified the validity of PPAT. Third, the total score of problem solving skill by FEATS exactly predicted the upper male group, lower female group, middle male group in positive problem orientation attitude; the upper female group in positive problem orientation attitude; the middle male group in negative problem orientation attitude and the middle female group in negative problem orientation attitude. The score of rational problem-solving skill by FEATS variables exactly predicted the lower male group, the upper female group, and lower male group in impulsive/careless problem solving, lower female group in impulsive/careless problem solving; lower male group in evasive problem solving; and middle female group in evasive problem-solving to verify the validity of PPAT as a result.
