The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of group counseling program using ceramic art activities career on career decision self-efficacy and career maturity of students with intellectual disabilities. For that, students with intellectual disabilities in the H Special School in Busan were selected to participate in the ceramic art activity group counseling. The 20 participants were divided into 2 groups: the experimental group and the control group. The group counseling program consisted of 10 sessions in total; it was conducted twice a week and each session was 80 minutes. For the analysis of the results, both the experimental group and the control group took career decision self-efficacy test and pre- and post- tests of career maturity. Using SPSS/WIN +23.0. statistical program, the analysis of covariance(MANCOVA) was performed with the pre-test scores as a covariate to verify the difference between two groups. To make up for the limit of quantitative analysis, the reports of 10 participants in the experimental group were collected and their changes were analyzed based on the reports of each session. The results of this study can be summed up as follows. First, the career decision self-efficacy of the experimental group improved compared to the control group. Secondly, the career maturity of the experimental group improved when compared to the control group In conclusion, this program can be effective to improve the career decision self-efficacy and career maturity of students with intellectual disabilities. Limitations of the current study and recommendations for future research werediscussed.
