The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between aggression, friendship and verbal violence based on different models. The data was collected from 1,157 fourth-to-sixth grade elementary school students. The survey of AQ-K, Friendship Test and Verbal Violence Scale were used in this study to examine the relationship between the variables. Structural Equation Modeling was used to compare two different models. In the first model, aggression impacts verbal violence with friendship serving as a full mediating variable. In the second model, the impact is partially mediated by friendship. Based on the final model of full mediation, higher aggression was related to lower friend bond, and lower friend bond was associated with more verbal violence. These results imply that aggression impact on verbal violence in a rather indirect fashion, with friendship playing an important role in the relationship between aggression and verbal violence.
