The current study is designed to explore the future direction of full-time non-tenure faculty system by analyzing the status of full-time non-tenure faculty members who have been continuously increasing since 2003 and analyzing the perception of stakeholders related to this system. For the purpose of this study, the concept of full-time non-tenure faculty members was explained based on the preceding literature, and the background and progress of the system were described. Specifically, we analyzed the current status of the full-time non-tenure faculty members of universities and colleges using the 2016~2018 full-time faculty survey data. Also, focus group interview(FGI) was used as research method. Based on the results of this study, we suggested the direction and future research projects for improving the full-time non-tenure faculty system at the government and university level.
