Conflicts and tensions in the world have been expanded due to multiple problems beyond the borderlines between countries in the 21st century. These problems are perceived to be serious enough to threat the survival of the mankind and it is required to realize that these matters in the international society are related to me. Amid this crisis, the importance of sustainable development has been raised and the roles of education that can change men’s thinking and behaviors fundamentally as the long-term perspective have been highlighted. This study aimed to develop sustainable development education programs to be aligned with global citizenship education in the arts education to meet these trends and needs. Main research points are to review the concept and contents of global citizenship education, arts based on global citizenship education, direction of sustainable development education, teaching and learning method of action learning; and to develop sustainable development education programs based on global citizenship education. This study will show how global citizenship education in the UN and sustainable development education are materialized and realized in the subject of the arts.
