This study examined how social comparison tendency influence on subjective well-being of college music major students. Moreover, the research verifies whether the type of instructor’s social support that students perceive, regulates the effects of social comparison tendency. The subjects were 253 music college students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, and their social comparative tendency, subjective well-being, and social support were examined. As a result first, high social comparison tendency impact negative emotion of subjective well-being. Second, instructor’s support significantly effects on negative emotion of subjective well-being, and regulates between social comparison tendency and negative emotion of subjective well-being.
