본 연구는 구조방정식 모형을 이용하여 긍정적 및 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움과 사회불안증상 간의 관계를 사회적 사건에 대한 긍정결과 가치절하와 부정결과 파국화가 매개하는지를 검증하였다. 대학생을 대상으로 긍정적 평가에 대한 두려움, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움, 사회적 사건의 긍정결과 가치절하, 부정결과 파국화 그리고 사회적 상호작용 불안증상을 평가하는 설문조사를 시행하였고, 300명의 자료를 분석에 이용하였다. 그 결과, 긍정결과 가치절하와 부정결과 파국화는 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움과 사회불안증상 간의 관계를 부분매개하였고, 긍정적 평가에 대한 두려움과 사회불안증상 간의 관계는 완전매개하였다. 또한, 매개효과 간의 차이를 검증한 결과 긍정적 평가에 대한 두려움과 사회불안증상 간의 관계에서 긍정결과 가치절하의 매개효과가 부정결과 파국화의 매개효과에 비해 유의미하게 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 평가에 대한 두려움과 사회불안증상 간의 관계에 관한 기존의 연구를 확장했다는 데 의의가 있으며, 사회불안증상에 대한 이론적 및 임상적 시사점을 제공한다.
This study has investigated that the disqualification on positive outcomes(DPSO) and catastrophizing on negative outcomes of social events(CONSE) mediate between fear of positive and negative evaluation and social anxiety symptoms(SIAS) using structural equation modelling. College students completed the questionnaires, including fear of positive evaluation(FPE), fear of negative evaluation(FNE), DPSO, CONSE, SIAS and 300 data were used for analyses. The results showed that DPSO and CONSE partially mediated the relationship between FNE and SIAS, and fully mediated the relationship between FPE and SIAS. In addition, as a result of examining the difference between mediation effects, the DPSO had larger mediating effect in relation to FPE and SIAS than that of CONSE had. It is meaningful that this study expanded the existing study of relationship between fear of evaluation and social anxiety symptoms. This finding suggest that theoretical and clinical implication for social anxiety symptoms.
