Since employee well-being has become a precondition for creating great workplace, various researches have been conducted around this subject. Previous studies in the Korean workplace context reported that meeting the basic psychological needs of employee has a positive impact on health and well-being as well as organizational performance. However, limitation still exists on measuring the basic psychological needs at Korean workplaces. This study proposed a measurement of basic psychological needs and its practical suggestions for Korean workplace. 486 sample data of Korean workers was used to conduct a psychometric evaluation of basic psychological needs satisfaction and frustration scale. As an result of construct validity analysis, the scale showed appropriate evidence for both convergence and discrimination validity. Predictive validity was verified at an appropriate level and cross-validity analysis also showed that the scale was invariance measurement. Finally, the reliability analysis found that the scale had an appropriate level of confidence. Based on the result of the findings, the study provides the implication for educational support and creating effective workplace strategies as a way to improve basic psychological needs and well-being of employees.
